Ground Plane AOV

I'm not too familiar with rendering merged .exr's with AOVs.  I have a scene with a ground plane that I need on its own separate AOV.  Is there a simple way to create it?  I have a few other AOV passes from the default Arnold list but can't seem to get the ground isolated.  Thanks in advance.

Hi!

If you need specific objects in it's own layer use render layers (Render Setup) instead.

If you only need the mask try the AOV "ID".

How do I go about doing that?  I need the alpha, so I need an AOV.  If I create a custom AOV in the render settings and add that AOV name in the aiStandardSurface's AOV drop down menu (ID 1 AOV), nothing renders.  Is there a step-by-step process?

Hi!

You don't need a custom AOV, just add the "ID" AOV in the Render Settings, there is nothing more to do.
