Hi,
I am searching methods to create advanced effects in Maya Viewport 2.0, such as Screen Space Reflections. For these effects I have to access the screen space buffers, like the depth buffer.
Is there any ways to do this?
Thanks,
Ferenc

Hello @Anonymous, Please check out these three links.
http://polycount.com/discussion/161570/injecting-custom-screen-space-effects-into-maya-viewport
https://docs.unrealengine.com/latest/INT/Engine/Rendering/PostProcessEffects/ScreenSpaceReflection/ <--- Yes, was done with maya.
https://renderman.pixar.com/resources/current/RenderMan/simulatingReflections.html <--- Same, done within maya.
Hi,
Thanks for your answer!
Unfortunately, I couldn't find Maya specific codes. Unfortunately the Reshade program is not on option, because we have our own surface shader in Maya.
Is there any example code for creating an effect eg. like this: http://roar11.com/2015/07/screen-space-glossy-reflections/ with the XML files in VP2.0?
Thanks again,
Ferenc
Hi ferenc,
Effects like Screen Space Reflection requires user to create custom pipeline with MRenderOverride. There are several sample in our devkit starting viewRenderOverride you can refer to.
