hello, maya is continuously trying to calculate a reduction i did on my entire scene a very simple cave design. i'm not really sure what's going on but it only shows the calculation being done while i interact with the scene, scrolling or translating or rotating the perspective etc. it's not a drastic break in the system but it is severely slowing down the scene. is there any way to cancel the calculation? i've tried escape key while the calculation is active but it doesn't seem to have an affect. also, it takes several minutes to open this scene now as it again tries to finish the calculation whereas before it simply opened in a matter of seconds. honestly i'm flustered, should i do anything or ignore it?

Sounds like you still have the polyReduce node on your object. I would highly recommend deleting history on your objects, especially for objects that don't deform. If you have deforming objects that you've polyreduced you need to transfer the deformers to a new clean object. A bit more information about your scene would be very helpful. Like do you have deforming object with polyReduce especially.

Also, for the next time you post, I'd recommend going in the main Maya forum if your not sure where to post, this really isn't a programming issue. Increases your chances of getting help 🙂
