Value Per Percent in Modeling Tools.

Hello. I`m a Maya Starter. Migrated from C4D. In Maya, it seems there is no way to use "Length" value when I use modeling tools. Example: when I want to use "Connect Tool" or "Multicut" or "Connect components" the distance desired is based on percent, not length like centimeter or feet...
I checked the pref settings and find nothing. this is a big problem for me. If I want to create one or more new segment(s) on a polygon obj from a corner along 12 cm, I should use the "measurement tools" in order to find the correct point/distance. Is there a way to change the data type used in those tools ?

Hi!

In some cases percent values make more sense as most edits are added as history nodes, so when anything changes in the history the edits still work.

Just think of a cube with a size of one meter where it''s divided at 50% vs 0.5 meter and later the input mesh is scaled up by a factor of 3. With the percentage value it still will work.

Tools that use percentage values usually can't be changed to a absolute values.

I recommend to create "helper objects" with the required size, that can then be used in combination with snapping.

Thanks a lot. I should learn more about inputs, output, Nodes. A lot of difference between Maya & C4D.
