How do I get Maya to commit changes made with the sculpting tools?

Hello!

I'm a longtime Blender user migrating to Maya. I'm working on a model that I'd like to create variations of through Maya's sculpting tools.

Unfortunately, If I hit F8 or click the "Edit" button in the shape editor (as shown in this video), my changes are gone. I've made a video to demonstrate:

Also note that some verticies move but they're not the ones I want moving.

How do I get Maya to commit the changes I've made to my model with the sculpting tools? I still can't attach my Maya binaries to posts here, but you can find the .mb here!

Hi!

The problem is that you have edit history on your object where you deleted some components, and because the vertex IDs changed, the wrong vertices are moved.

You even can see this in realtime when you try to move vertices with the Move Tool.

Please try on your model in main menu:

Edit -> Delete by Type -> Non-Deformer History

After this it should work as intended.
