hey every,

So im getting pretty close to replicating what AutoModeller Pro dose for 3D Studio MAX in maya with MAYA MASH (god love MASH)

here is a Link if you never seen AutoModeller pro ( http://www.scriptspot.com/3ds-max/plugins/automodeller-pro ) ITs awsome and epic!

So Far i'v managed To get the Brush effect to work with place node in mash and the world node so i'm getting really close to AutoModeller but iv hit a bit of a wall in mash.

I can't seem to deform object around the base object ( or don't know how to do this! to be honest. )  kinda like bellow!

3189408

Any advice on how to do this effect. im trying to create a honeycomb pattern around a Organic shape but yet to keep it procedural so the Art director can have flexibility to change it.

thanks you.

Best regards

Hi!

Use a curve from Polygon or Nurbs Object and then Curve Warp:

hey @mspeer

thank you for your reply,

it not quite what i was looking for. for complex object it would bean i would need a lot of curves.

it sound like maya can do this out of the box! is there a 3d party plugins that allows to do this?

Hi!

You need to connect an Input Mesh for Distribution.

Maybe use a second MASH Network for Distribution.

Hi!

For this projection effect use ShrinkWrap or Transfer Attributes.

Dependent on your needs you might need to combine different tools, but i hope i could give you an idea how to get closer to achieve your result.

It's of course more complex than just one hit of a single button.
