Created objects starting with rotation.

Okay, so I have recently started using Maya again after being gone for a week and never had this issue until today. I tried restarting Maya and creating a new file, but it won't go away so I believe I may have pressed something, but not sure what. Let's say I create a cube, well this cube will either begin with some form of rotation on all axis, or when I go to scale it or move it, it will gain some rotation on all axis. If I go to scale the edges so I can straighten things out they will expand rather than flatten out. Also if I go to the objects properties and add edges like to make a cube with say, 4 squares on it's different sides it will discombobulate the entire shape into some mongoloid monstrosity. Keep in mind I have not edited any of the object properties this is the first place I checked, and it happens on objects that are not in a group or a child object. I have also not moved a single vert so I'm just lost and confused. Some help would be most appreciated.

I have not seen that particular problem before, but this sounds like something that can be corrected by resetting your preferences.

If you're unaware, go to your ...\maya\2018 where the folder "prefs" hangs out. Simply rename it to something else and next time you start up Maya a new folder will get made. Best part is if that doesn't work simple delete the newly made folder and rename the old one back to "prefs".

This has helped me with similar situation where I find tools acting up. Hope it helps.
