Add Vertex?

Hi

Is it possible to add a single vertex to an empty face? A bit like as shown in this video from 3ds Max, around the 1:26 mark?

I want to do something like this in Maya for a game-ready mesh, so I can close up something that won't be seen. The only thing that's kinda similar is adding a Fill Hole and then going to Edit Mesh > Merge to Centre. That sometimes works fine, but other times it can push the centre vertex outwards. Is this the only way? Or is there another and better way of achieving this?

Thanks

Hi

Sorry for the delayed response. Is it possible to add a single vertex in the centre of a face like you can in Max? I can't say I've ever been able to figure out how to do that with the Multi Cut tool.

Looks like there is just the tool in Maya for the job. Had no idea it existed. It's called Poke Face, or Poke under Edit Mesh. 😄 The description even says 'Insert a central vertex to split a face'. And no one even informed me of this tool...? 🤔
