Error Code at startup

Good morning, I was wondering if anyone has figured out a solution to this // Error: file: /Applications/Autodesk/mayaLT2017/Maya.app/Contents/scripts/others/drInit.mel line 1960: Object '' not found. //

I tried reinstalling maya and this error code still shows up. This hasn't affected any of my work, however, it still shows up repeatedly every time i perform an action.

Hello @Anonymous,

Thank you for posting to the Area Forums.

I have not seen that error before inside of Maya LT 2017.

I understand that you have tried uninstalling and reinstalling. However, I am wondering if you have tried resetting the preferences. The preferences are not reset when performing an uninstall and reinstall so it may be worth a try:

Are you doing something in particular when this error is occurring? Does it happen in a File > New Scene of Maya?

Cheers,

David Santos

Hi CameronShep,

Please follow the instructions below for a workaround. We will provide a permanent fix in a future update.

An updated version of the drInit.mel script is in the attached zip file. The updated script needs to be copied into a location on the MAYA_SCRIPT_PATH (background on the MAYA_SCRIPT_PATH can be found here).

We recommend putting the script into the User Script Directory, so that it will be sourced ahead of the original script that is in the Maya LT install.

To find the location of the User Script Directory, enter the following on the command line:

internalVar -userScriptDir

Ex. on Windows systems the user script directory would typically be

C:/Users/<username>/Documents/maya/2017LT/scripts/

Restart Maya LT to pick up the new scripts.

To verify that Maya LT is using the new version of the script from this location, enter the following command:

whatIs drInit

Let me know it this solution works for you!

Hi CameronShep,

Execute this mel command to know the location of the directory where to put the script.

internalVar -userScriptDir

On mac, this gives me

/Users/<username>/Library/Preferences/Autodesk/maya/2017LT/scripts/

Hello, Thank you for posting the fixed script. I have spent much time trying to resolve this issue. I'm on a Mac OS X 10.11.6 and your updated drInit.mel fixed the issue. This is a great relief. Thank you again. AJ.
