"I would like to see a Spline Toolkit and splines that worked like the splines in 3ds Max [faster/easier than Maya's curve tools.].


I often switch to 3ds Max to work with splines which eventually get converted to polygon objects and brought back into Maya. I love how in 3ds Max I can manipulate a spline the same way I can in AutoCad or even Illustrator. I can fillet a point, weld points together, etc."

 

"I want a better fillet on curves.  Basically just the same feature as in MAX where you can select all the vertices on a curve and fillet them in one step. In Maya you now have to select all the vertices, separate them into several curves, then fillet two curves at the time, then the next two, then the next etc, then attach the curves back together"

 Second this! And I'd love to see the sweep modifier as well. Extruding through curves or giving thickness to them is a pain and very unpredictable. I'd love to see maya handle well giving a hard corner curve some thickness like 3ds max can with the sweep modifier.

I completely agree with you spline tools in maya are so so bad I mean look at fusion 360 or MOI 3d even 3ds max  has very good spline tools but when come to maya it has the most useless spline tool in the world. I hope they pay some attention to maya spline tools instead of making a stupid updates like super shapes.

I'd love to see improvements to curves in Maya, I used Max backaround 2009 and it was way better, even back then! They were properly useful for modelling. I barely touch curves in Maya for modelling as they can be so fiddly.

I love 3Ds Max's "Render Spline in Viewport" with Parameters.

It can make a wire in 5 seconds, where maya takes too much time.

Vote for spline toolkit.

I am unhappy to say that current curve tools are the worst I've ever used to try.
