Remove focus from Time Slider time fields once you have clicked away

Current:

It is common to type a desired frame number into either the start time, end time, or current time fields, then click away to do something else, and then press a hotkey only to discover that the time field still had focus and your desired time value has now been replaced.

Desired:

Clicking anywhere outside of the time fields should remove focus and any subsequent key presses will not apply to that field until it is given focus again by clicking on it again.

This is my #1 usability complain about using Maya. I've been a Maya user since 2000 and this still happens to me multiple times a day.

When I forget, it ruins my time range. This happens *every day.*

Worse: when I remember and select something in the viewport to make it hot again, I've sometimes accidentally set unwanted keys that I don't discover until later.

I do this several times a day as well.

Good idea - setting this one to "Under Review" as we investigate it further.

This isn't just a time slider thing, it's everywhere in Maya and is intentional.  In any text field, if you press Enter on the Numpad, the focus remains in the text field.  If you press Enter on the keyboard, the focus returns to the model panels, and your hotkeys will work.

Workaround mostly works for me, gilleybaba, thanks for letting me know.

I can't really think of when I would want to keep focus in the text field after hitting enter, but I suppose I might so knowing how to do it both ways is handy.

Still an issue,  been under review for nearly a year and a half... Maybe go ahead and move it to... What's next in the Autodesk process?  The "We're still Thinking about it" stage?  Or maybe the "We lost it" stage?  Perhaps the "We don't really execute on any of these suggestions" stage?
