hello!
I created a plane, added some divisions with connect tool, and then xgen
however, it doesn't work quite as expected: the hair doesn't tilt correctly and even grooming the splines manually didn't help out.
if i create the plane with subdiv automatically, xgen behaves fine.
p.s. the transforms were frozen and the history was deleted
cheers.

What version of Maya are you working with and is it up to date?
Also, if you use the insert edge loop tool instead of connect and then create the Xgen does it align properly?

Hello!
I'm using the latest build 2019.1
I tested your suggestions with the multi-cut edge tool, add divisions and insert edge loop tool, and only with the last two ones xgen works well.
however, add div and IEL tools are not always handy in modeling. it could be good to be able to use multi-cut edge tool as well 🙂
I've made some more researches and tests:
1) after I successfully made divisions and xgen friends on 2 last planes, everything else after this started to work fine oO both with multi-cut and connect tools(!) it's a kind of self-healing bug? ahah
2) I'm happy xD
