Workaround to Maya 2017 Crashing when Graph Editor open

Hi,

I'm using the Student version of Maya 2017, which I believe means the updates/service packs are not available to me.  

 

Maya 2017 crashes when I select a rig controller with the graph editor open.  This is listed as bug fix Maya-73305 for Update 1.

 

Does anyone know a workaround for this bug?  As far as I can tell, Update 1 is not available to students.  My solution has been to continue using Maya 2016.  

 

Windows 10 64-bit (fully updated)

i7-5930k

64GB RAM

Geforce GTX 980Ti (driver updated)

I also have the problem when i updated MAYA 2017 TO MAYA 2018.

 

SOMEONE PLEASE HELP!!

I'M TRYING TO TRACE THE PROBLEM USING THE OUTPUT WINDOW OF THE MAYA 2018 WHICH THE STACK TRACE SHOWS WHEN MAYA 2018 CRASHES BUT THE OUTPUT WINDOW CLOSE IMMEDIAETLY.

My particular problem was solved when I discovered I could update to the latest Maya version with a student account.  Once I updated, the problem was fixed.

You update to Maya 2018? well my problem is in maya 2018 so i contact person who can probably solve this problem but..
