Why is Maya autosaving two folders above my project directory?

Hey!

I've been using Maya for about a year. One thing I've never quite figured out is why Maya places autosaves two directories above a project's folder:

Autosaves should be stored in C:\Users\Admin\Projects\Project_Name\Maya_Project_Files, but they're being stored in C:\Users\Admin\Projects. This happens with every project I work on.

When starting a new project, I set the project directory through File > Set Project.

I've checked my preferences to make sure that Maya's set to autosave in the project directory:

Why isn't Maya storing autosaves in the project directory?
