Suppose I have a cube. I apply first shader. A red blinn. Next I select top face of the cube and apply a second material a blinn material. I then look for a texture which is bigger than the selected face. So I apply a planar mapping to scale the texture and then the texture is replaced by a checkered texture and my blinn dissapear. I have to redo the second shader placement.
What is wrong? Why plannar mapping change my texture for a checkered texture and where this checkered texture comes from?
I checked the default material and I cannot see any checkered texture on it. Its driving me nut because i have to redo the steps again to apply the sahder.

Yes. Here is the screenshot. As you can see when I apply the mapping in the
textured cube its replaced by the checkered texture. The texture is gone,
asi if never was applied.

Hi!
There is an option to assign a new checker shader, just turn it off.
Main Menu: UV -> Assign Checker Shader
UV Editor: Create -> Assign Checker Shader
I think the check mark display for this is currently bugged in 2021. In order to turn this option off, the checkmark needs to be toggled a few times.
