Time Slider Causing Crashes

I seem to having a promblem with a simple animation that I'm composing. All was going well, until i reached a point where if i wanted to move a specific frame or a group a frames on the time slider or even simpily moving the object around, the program maya would then freeze up completly. I am unable to click anything, not even the exit button. If i could recieve some help that would be amazing. I'm using a student computer, windows 10, and maya 2016.

Thank You.

Do you know what service pack you are on?  In the latest one, Service Pack 5, the release notes mention that they fixed a crash "when playing or scrubbing animation".

Also, I don't think Windows 10 is officially supported by Maya yet.

Edit: Actually, I'm not sure if Windows 10 is supported for Maya 2016.  This page https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/maya/troubleshooting/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/Operating... does not list Windows 10.  But this page does: https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/maya/troubleshooting/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/System-re...
