Selected Object faces dont show color while on Interface enlargement

Hi I am a Maya beginner...as I need to increase to size of interface and icons (as I am using opticals)when I change the size preferences scale to 200% I am not able to get that any colors for face selection. Instead it is displaying only grey color on the selected object faces. But when I go back to 150% then that beige color is back on face selection. anyone knows what is the reason? I am using a student license version. pls. help.

Hi @Anonymous

Thanks for posting! Can you tell me what version of Maya you are using? If you select the Help menu in Maya, then click About it will open a new window saying exactly what version is installed 🙂

Also, I would recommend checking that your graphics card drivers are up to date. The viewport is heavily dependent on the Graphics card, so updating those may do the trick!

Thanks for being a part of our community!

Hi @Anonymous

Thanks for your reply! 🙂 I just tried this with 2020 and didnt have the same results you did, so I think that updating the graphics card drivers is the way to go! here was my results (forgive the messy geometry):

Here's what i would suggest:

  1. Use the Nvidia Driver finder tool to find your most current driver.
  2. Restart your computer.
  3. Reset the Maya preferences to default (to make sure any other corruption is cleared out).
  4. Start Maya and change the percentage back to 200% and test again 🙂

Let me know how that goes 🙂

Hi.thanks....I updated my graphics card (Nvdia Gforce GTX 1070 ) But now I tried something different. I did a print screen from my Maya Interface where it shows Grey color for selected Faces and copy pasted in Photoshop. When I pasted in Photoshop and then shows that beige colour that i am looking for. What could be the real issue?....(Print screen image pasted in a new document in Photoshop attached here...)

Hi @Anonymous

Thanks for trying those things! that is definitely weird.

Are you using multiple monitors? Is your monitor 4k? If you right click on the desktop, and click Display Settings, could you send a screenshot of those settings?

Thanks again for your time and efforts with this.

Hi @Anonymous

Thanks for the reply! Just for testing's sake, could you try changing it to standard resolution and start maya again? This may be a compatible issue with Maya and 4k monitors 🙂 If we can confirm that, I will get it logged with development.

Thanks again and I look forward to your reply!

Hi,

Thanks it is working. I tried some thing strange! all I did as you told, changed my 4k Monitor to 2560x1600 display setting and then I opened Maya. Then I opened Maya it was working perfect having Face selection beige color. I kept opened Maya without unselecting  the same object, I went to display setting and now changed my monitor resolution to back to 4k resolution. When I checked back in Maya, Face color remained beige as needed without changing to grey color. As a final test I closed Maya and restarted computer and then opened Maya again, it works now. so all is fine and ends fine 🙂 thank you for your superb support!!
