Is there any way of grabbing an image view/screenshot like you can in 3ds Max?

So there's no built-in feature like Max...? That's a pity. 😕

Hi @t_smith5

-Actually there is a snapshot tool in the render view window but it is quite useless because it do snapshot only the wires .

watch "snapShot.mp4" video attachment

-but if you need to dot it with a high quality use Maya hardware 2.0

-or hit Ctrl + Space on Maya to maximize the viewport then as @damaggio  suggested use print screen key

Hi!

The snapshot tool in Maya Render View only serves one purpose, that is to get an overview in the Render View where you then can select a region for Render Region, so you don't need to render the frame once complete or to guess where you need to select.

To render out the Viewport content you need to render the scene or use Playblast. You can also use an OS tool as suggested by @damaggio or any other 3rd party tool to take a screenshot.
