Hello all,
So, while animating in Maya 2018, I used quicktime for my playblasts and then all of a sudden the application does not close and I can not restart/shut down or force quit quicktime unless a do a hard reset on my mac.
Has this issue happened to anyone else on a mac desktop?
Please advise and thanks,
Steve

Hi @stevenfila7
If you create a fresh scene with just a cube does this issue still happen?
Also, if you playblast with a different format than quicktime does the issue still occur?

Hi Sean,
Thanks for getting back. Greatly appreciated. The only way quicktime works is if I do a hard reset to my machine. Quicktime works by itself ok but once I start doing playblasts, it seems that the application gets corrupt in conjunction with utilizing maya for playblasts.
I was unsure if maya supports the new quicktime?
Can you please provide step by step instructions how to change my playblasts to another video player because this issue is slowing me down for animation purposes. The issue does not occur when using VLC player.
I really don't want to save my playblast file, I just want to keep them playblasting if needed be.
Please advise and thanks,
Steve
Hi @stevenfila7
It may be an issue with the new playblast but I'm not 100% certain.
As for changing the playblast settings:
Let me know how that goes for you!

Hi Sean,
I actually wanted to change my video player from quicktime to vlc.
Is there an option for that in Maya?
Also, will changing my prefs resolve this possibly?
Please advise and regards,
Steve
Hi @stevenfila7
You could try resetting your prefs but if the issue is with quicktime there isn't a guarantee that it will solve your issue.
As for your other question, is VLC your default media player? If not make it so and then try to playblast.
