Hi,
I was considering purchasing 100 Flex tokens for using Maya. However, I am thoroughly confused as to whether or not a 'token' will stay active or not when I close Maya and stop using the program. The autodesk official flex page states "Use tokens each day a product is open. Close a product to stop token use.", which implies that I should be able to close Maya to essentially stop this 24 hour timer when a flex token is activated. However, I have phoned Autodesk sales 3 separate times and all 3 people have stated that once a flex token is activated, the timer will tick down no matter if the software is open or closed. It makes no sense, but all 3 people have made it very clear this happens.
If I wanted to buy 100 flex tokens for Maya (6 tokens per day of use), this would get me 16 days of use. If I was able to 'pause' this timer, I could easily stretch this out comfortably and get a few hours each day of use for 2-3 months. However, if this timer does not pause, I would be paying £240 for 16 days of use, which is virtually the same price as just paying for Maya for a whole month. I wouldn't be using any other software other than Maya so it seems like Flex Tokens are not worthwhile for me if this is the case.
If anyone can help and let me know if I am correct here or if I have got this wrong, I'd be grateful, thank you.

If you open Maya once a day it will eat 6 token.
On that day you can open it as many times as you want and it wont eat more tokens.
You cant stretch it.
Tokens are the most expensive way to use Maya if you need it all the time.
Take a look into Maya Indie.
