Ptex Color map for archives scattering / density

I am sure this is straight forward but I cannot find a solution. I would like to create an Xgen expression that would allow me to paint a density map where different colors represented different archive's Ids.

I'm not sure if you can get the color to change based on ID but this thread had a similar question with changing hair color via ID that might help you out.
