Hello everyone. I have a model in Maya that is having trouble with UV's. This is what I've done so far after modeling:
-Unwrapped UV's
-Exported to Photoshop
-Painted UV's
-Saved as a TIFF (for some reason this is the only file format Photoshop would let me export as, not sure why)
-Went back into Maya, selected the mesh
-Assign new material
-Selected Lambert
-Chose option box on color
-Right clicked on File and selected "create texture"
-Selected my image file of my painted UV's
-Pressed 6
Everything I see online tells me I should go into UV Editor and see if I have more than one UV map. I don't think I'm even seeing ONE UV map there...the window comes up and is a completely empty map. Does anyone have an idea of what I've done wrong and how I can fix this?
In order to see the UVs, the object needs to be selected. This is not obvious from your images.
It also looks like you have applied some wrong texture to your model, which suggests you might have several uvSets (see uvSets > uvSetEditor) and the texture is using the wrong one.
