Missing inputs in the channel box

I've been using Maya for about two days. I had construction history turned on until about two hours ago when I imagine i accidentally turned it off somehow. Seemed like an easy enough fix. Turn the construction history back on, and I'm good to go, right? Wrong. Any new polygons I add to the viewport have the input pane in the channel box, but I can't get the input pane back for any of the old polygons I'd initially added to the scene. This is frustrating seeing as I need to add new subdivisions to a few of the polygons. Any help would be appreciated. I added two screen shots for visualization purposes.

Unfortunately, you're not going to be able to access those inputs for the objects you created when history was turned off. You would have the same problem if you created an object with history enabled, then deleted history, saved the file, and restarted Maya. (Note that you can delete history and get it back with the undo command provided you haven't exited Maya and your undo queue is enabled...and history was enabled when you first created the object.)

When you say "deleted history" do you mean disabled construction history? I was aware of needing construction history on due to a tutorial video so unless I did it with a hot key it was a mindless act. As in I didn't go out of my way to delete anything. Sorry, I'm really digging here... Either way thank you for the helpful initial and hopefully follow up response.

No...you can delete history by doing the Edit->Delete by type->History command. You didn't delete history, you just accidently disabled it so it wasn't being collected in the first place.

There is a short but very helpful explanation of managing construction history here.

I am after doing this myself-it is so annoying -I reckon he were too keyboard "happy" and accidently hit the keys at the top . Best wishes.
