Mental Ray Nodes Still Appearing

I am still getting Mental Ray errors when loading my maya scene even after optimizing my scene and deleting the four nodes in the Outliner.  Is this a bug? How can I get rid of this?

This is the error:

// Warning: file: H:/Pull The Plug Scene/HospitalBed.ma line 327385: Unrecognized node type 'mentalrayItemsList'; preserving node information during this session. //

Hi!

I've done this already, and saved the file. Then when I reopen the scene file the four mental ray nodes of death are still there

can you be more specific with type of help?  As far as I can tell there's no issue with my graphics card

Do you have a mental ray plug auto-loading? look at the plugin manager. If there is no mental ray in there, it make no sense to have mental ray nodes in your precious scene. Unless someone used mental ray in that scene at some point before handing it to you. Is that what happened? Delete unknown nodes and saving and making sure mental auto-load is off should be all that you need to do. If that is  not working then Maya is screwing something up. Is Maya screwing something up? Is Maya not following its own rules? Entirely possible. Seen enough yet?

Hi @Anonymous

When you get a chance, can you please zip and attach the scene file here or via dropbox/google drive or another file sharing program so I can take a look at it?
