mayaRenderLog.txt

When I use the Batch Renderer Maya creates a mayaRenderLog.txt file in the following directory: C:\Users\myName\Documents\maya.
When I render from the Command line this file is not created.
Where can I change settings so that the mayaRenderLog.txt file is created when I render from the Command line?
Furthermore, I would also like to know where I can change settings regarding the mayaRenderLog.txt file?
My goal is to render multiple scenes from the Command line and that Maya creates a mayaRenderLog.txt file for every rendered scene.
The mayaRenderLog.txt file should also contain the name of the rendered scene and the output-directory should also be choosable.

Hi @mp221506 ,

Appreciate you bringing your question to the Maya forums! To your question, it depends on what render engine you are using, and what version of Maya. According to this Arnold documentation, you can get the render logs via batch command using Arnold with these commands.

For batch rendering, Arnold log messages go into mayaRenderLog:

  • [Windows] %USERPROFILE%\Documents\maya\mayaRenderLog.txt
  • [OSX] ~/Library/Logs/Maya/mayaRender.log
  • [Linux] ~/maya/mayaRenderLog.txt

I hope this is helpful, and let me know if you are using a different render engine, or have any follow up questions 😄

Warm regards,

Thanks for the reply!

I found the solution to my problem in the meantime. In the batch command I was missing the "-log" option :

Render -r vray -cam persp -rd C:\Users\myName\images myScene.ma -log C:\Users\myName\log\myScene_LOG.txt
