Maya XGen

I tried to find solutions to my problem, however, none of the solutions I found worked. I tried uninstalling and installing Maya; Update; I tried to disable and enable the plug-in. Nothing seems to work Smiley Sad

 I do not like to annoy people with technical issues, and i 'd like to learn how to use  "XGen". Each suggestion will be aprreciated. 

I' am using the latest version of maya. 2019.1.  Student version.

Hi @Anonymous 

 

While you tried unloading and reloading the plugin, can you try deleting your settings/preferences and then again reload the plugin and see if anything changes?

 

If that doesn't work, you can try going to Windows>Workspace and hit "reset workspace".

 

Please let me know if anything changes!

Hello 

Deleting settings/preferences and again reload the plugin din't work. 

And I could not reset the workspace, how you can see in the picture.

 

When i start maya , a message appears " Unable to execute xgen.mel."

Hi @Anonymous 

 

It looks like something may be corrupt with your Xgen files.

 

You'll want to perform a clean uninstall/reinstall of Maya that way all the files are properly removed and then you can start from scratch.

Sorry for the delay.I tried to do the clean uninstall and then install again. Nothing works. I will try downloading different versions of maya.

The problem still persists. Smiley Indifferent All other tools work perfectly. Only xgen does not work.

Hi @Anonymous 

 

Aside from the main Xgen plugin, please make sure the other ones are enabled.

 

  1. Confirm that the plug-in is loaded in the Plug-in Manager.
    1. Navigate to Windows > Settings\Preferences > plug-in Manager
    2. Confirm that xgenMR.py and xgenToolKit.mll plug-ins are loaded.

There is not xgenMR.py.

Hi @Anonymous 

 

This is most likely because you don't have Mental Ray installed. You could try installing Mental Ray separately and then load that plugin.

@Anonymous 

Please don't install Mental Ray for Maya 2019, it's not supported there and will not work anyway.

1. There is no version for Maya 2019

2. It will not solve your problem it only can lead to a problem.

Hi!

 

- Make sure no 3rd party plug-ins are enabled or installed.

- Don't use ASCII characters or whitespace in any folder name / file path, also not for user/account.

-I did not change any folder name / file path. And for user/account is required to put the last name on user/account name. How you can see in the picture >

I am talking about your computer log-in user name and not Autodesk account settings.
