Maya UVs unfold together even when seperated.

Maya UVs unfold together even when seperated.

When I select one shell of a UV and unfold all the other UVs that arent selected unfold with it. I dont know what to do. First time unwrapping stuff.

Hi @Anonymous

 

The Unfold tool will unfold the entire model regardless of what you have selected.

 

The Layout tool however will only work on the selected shells.

 

If you can provide some screenshots I can help you with any other questions you may have.

All is good. I guess it just bugged out that one time. I restarted Maya a
few times and then it fixed itself I think

The way I solved this was making sure the 3Dunfold plugin built into maya was loaded because for some reasons mine was disabled but once i turned it back on i was able to unfold individual UV shell again and also it improved the UV unfolding back to what I'm used to since its better then legacy.
