v2023 is giving me headaches.
1) It saves files fine, but it keeps leaving this red error message:
# Error: UnicodeDecodeError: file C:\Program Files/Autodesk/Maya2023\Python\lib\encodings\cp1252.py line 23: 'charmap' codec can't decode byte 0x8f in position 129: character maps to <undefined>
2) I also find it unstable. All of as sudden, I can no longer select objects, or it won't shut down when I click on the little "x" in the upper right corner... just a few examples. I've uninstalled it, and I plan to reinstall it in a day or so.
Any ideas? Is there a known problem?
Update: Maya 2022 does the same thing. I am expecting the same issue for 2024 after I get done installing it. Maya 2022 was slightly sluggish and exhibited the same error message.
Maya 2020 behaves just fine.
I am running Windows 10, 64GB RAM, Ryzen 5900X3D CPU, and an RTX 3080.
