i been working hard on this for a veeeeery long time as am student trying to practice on making random things this was the only thing i did perfectly i was working on it 24/24 for more than a week it was fine until before the last time i saved it and slept from tomorrow i tried to open it and the moment i double click on the file to open it, it loads and the moment it reaches 100% the whole maya system freezes and crashes that i even have to use task manager to turn it off everytime i do try to open the project and specifically this one project! https://mega.nz/#!5xoAxQzY!cL7xgDRNwP6wDOw7MTzbKLSXZ_yjpmmE1nXxCc_KUKI <download the file from here < i tried to open other projects the load just fine i even tried to open this very project on other computers yet they also crash in the progress of loading it to maya and no i am sure the file is perfectly fine there is nothing wrong with it its not correpted or anything of that sort it was just working few days ago before i completely close maya ! here is the file and also a video of what happens when i try to open it up this happens with all the ways whether i try to directly double click on the project file or just import the project file or load scene it will still result to a crash in the end with exactly the same way i did wait for hours once i was thinking maybe if i give it a little bit of time it will work eventually but that wasnt at all it and it was a waste of time.

Hi @Anonymous

It looks like you used booleans in the scene and may have not cleaned up the model or deleted the history after as Maya is getting hung up on that when trying to open it.

Do you have any older versions of the file that can be opened? It's also worth mentioning for future reference that its always recommended to remove history when you don't need it as well as keeping the scene as optimized and clean as possible so issues like this can be avoided in the future.

i dont mean to be RuDe but umm.. if i had any that are usefull i think logically i would have just opened that one and i wont be here asking for help!
i only have one version which is faaar away its not updated and i dramatically made changes after saving it the main project that is up to date is not working but yes the other file which is really far behind is working fine! and am kinda new so i didnt know i had to delete history everytime to avoid such problems how would any student know about this knowing am being a rocky!

Hi @Anonymous

It is a complex manner and should be brought up more in the documentation I agree.

I tried to open the file in Notepad to see if I could salvage it but Notepad wouldn't load the scenes data either.

For now you'll have to work with the older file and just save often and in increments to avoid this.
