Maya Mac Osx Loading an image from a Network Shared Drive

When I am trying to load an image as a texture from a Networked shared drive it is grayed out in the Maya import window. Other folders that are not shared from network drives are fine.

See the Alias for H and 00_Peter_ALL_Master_BUP alias in the screen attachement

Is this a Maya OSX issue?

Any help appreciated.

Try changing preferences >file projects to OS native... See if changes anything
