Hello everyone, If someone can help me this.

Its prob nothing big, although is annoying.

Maya keeps freezing. What I mean is that, When I select something it stops for 2 or 5 sec. Then it process to what i want.

For Example."  I click on my mesh, Wait 3 sec and then it select. I then go to Basic parameter and wait 3 sec, and the it process. I then click on Diffuse checkerboard Wait 3 or 4 sec and the it moves on. ect

How do I fix this? Any one Thanks.

The one thing that comes to mind is the Windows fault tolerant Heap.

Sometimes after an application crashes Windows tries to fix the issue by switching it to use the fault tolerant heap which is a performance killer.

Unfortunately there is no way to disable it permanently but this thread has details on how to fix this issue:

Aside from that I would look into graphics card and driver.

  • Click the Start menu.
  • Right-click Computer and click Manage.
  • Click Event Viewer > Applications and Services Logs > Microsoft > Windows > Fault-Tolerant-Heap
