Maya 2017, installed on win 10 pro.
when working with big object Maya freeze for some time, and in some cases it must be reopened.
what can cause this (checked memory was only 40% in use, and CPU 10%)

This scene is a whole mess.
Mass of history nodes (multiple hundred for a single object), single node names that fill up multiple DIN A4 pages, 1000's of unused nodes, 1000 transforms on top of a single mesh,...
Clean up the scene (or rebuild it) and it should work without any problems, some actions will be 1000 times faster and your file size will be about 100 times smaller.
I have to mention that i had no crashes here with Maya 2017 update 4.
