Maya FBX Import Help

It's my first time importing an Asset in Maya and I am not very familiar with FBX format 

I am supposed to import a scene (.mb) format 

and access the Asset property and find the control of the rig for me to animate 

How can I access the attributes of my imported asset. when I import it I can't get in the animated character in the outliner as a whole and can't access more of its groups & contents

I'm a little bit confused as to why the fbx import isn't working.

Could you attach the fbx here or via dropbox/google drive so I can take a look at it?
