Maya 2022 fails to start after 'Fatal error. Attempting to save in C:/Users/<firstname>~1.<lastname>/AppData/Local/Temp/first.last.20211201.1338.ma

I'm unable to start Maya 2022. The window pops up but I immediately get the following error,

Fatal error. Attempting to save in C:/Users/<firstname>~1.<lastname>/AppData/Local/Temp/<first>.<last>.20211201.1338.ma

Maya 2022 opens successfully on the machine with other local users. This issue is specific to one local user.

Things I've tried.

  • Uninstalling/reinstalling
  • Deleting prefs
  • Deleting local user account (Windows)
  • Updating graphics drivers 
  • Uninstalling all Maya add-ons/plugins  

Error message from maya UI and error log attached.

same I have the exact same issue too, and I need it resolved because I have coursework and I need Maya 2022 bad.. 😞
