Maya 2018 shortcut key combination problems

So I have set my transform constraint shortcut like this:

Surface slide: Ctrl+shift+x

edge slide: shift+x

off: Ctrl+alt+x

However, for the "ctrl+shift+x" combination, the shortcut only works when I am holding all the buttons.  As soon as I release the button, it suddenly went back to the previous constraint. I have changed the "on press" and "on release" option and none of them works.

I am pretty sure that the "ctrl+shift" combination is broken because I have tried the same settings in Maya 2017 and this problem doesn't happen

Hi @jtdx8866 and welcome to the community!

I just tried this and had no issues with the hotkeys working.

If you try these same combinations but with a different command other than Surface Slide does this still occur?

Also, you may want to try deleting your settings/preferences so the hotkeys are completely reset and then try setting them again.

Let me know if anything changes!

Hi @jtdx8866

I'm just checking in again to see if you need more help with this. Did the suggestion I provided yesterday work for you?

Hi Sean,

Sorry for the late reply. I just tried your suggestions but the problem still exists. It is really weird that even if I am using the default shortcut without assigning any keys to the selection constraint if I am pressing ctrl+shift together, it will become " edge slide", if I let go, the option will become "off" again. I tried in 2017 and that doesn't happen

Hi @jtdx8866

Hmmm ok. And resetting your prefs didn't solve the issue?

Out of curiosity, could you try changing the hotkeys to a simply one key press? For example the letters A, B and C. I'd like to make sure its an issue with that specific key combination and not your hotkeys entirely.

Let me know if anything changes!

I think I am just having the same issue was mentioned in this thread. I am sure it is not fixed by deleting or renaming the prefs folder. Right now I am updating my Maya 2018 to update 2, I will let you know if that bug still exists.

Thank you!
