MAYA 2017 keeps crashing upon opening the application

Hello, I am using a student license and I have been using this software for about two days now, and now every time I try to open the software it crashes. This is a problem because now I can't do my assignments. I don't know what to do I've tried updating my Macbook 15, uninstalling and reinstalling, even tried downloading the security fix patch but that won't even download for some reason. If you could respond with any help as soon as possible that would be greatly appreciated.

Hi @Anonymous and welcome to the community!

When you go to launch Maya, do you see the splash art and/or the Maya UI or does Maya just not launch at all?

Please come back with as much information as possible so we can try and solve this!

The application tries to open but no splash art appears I just get a screen full of code, this morning I deleted all maya files and completely re-downloaded Maya and it seems to work but if the same problem occurs again id still like to know how I can fix it. Thanks for your time!

Its possible something went wrong in the install which is why doing a clean uninstall/reinstall worked for you.

If it occurs again though feel free to post back here and we can work for a solution!
