Hi!

Try a reset of your preferences.
Rename the folder prefs in folder 2018 to something like prefs_backup, or to reset everything, the folder 2018 to 2018_backup (or even the maya folder to maya_backup). Maya creates new folders (don't copy preferences from previous Maya versions). Detailed at:

Hi @Anonymous and welcome to the community!

@mspeer made a good suggestion but I also wanted to get a bit more information.

Does Maya not open at all now or does it always open once and then crash if you close and try to re open it?

Please let me know if @mspeer's suggestion works or if you need any more assistance!

Maya opens once when i turn on my mac, and crash if i close and try to re open.

The reset on the pref folder does not work unfortunately.

Hi @Anonymous

Do you see a Maya crash report when it crashes or only the apple report?

Also you may want to try a clean uninstall/reinstall of Maya.

Please let me know if anything changes!

Hi @Anonymous

So after opening it once it will crash when you try to re launch Maya.

Since its launching once normally we know that your machine can handle Maya but the fact that a clean uninstall/reinstall didn't help is quite unusual.

If you try to re launch it multiple times will it crash every time? If so, it's possible this may be an issue with your Mac hardware/software.

When you get a chance you may want to try contacting Apple support as well with the Apple error log you have.

Let me know if anything changes!

Hi @Anonymous

Did Apple support help at all or are you still having this issue?

Hi @Anonymous

Ah ok.

When Maya crashes on re-open, are there any error messages or logs? If so, can you please screenshot and post them here?

Hi @Anonymous

There wasn't any attachment in your last post. If you're responding via email, attachments don't always go through so when you get a chance please come  back to this post and manually attach the error!

Hi @Anonymous

Ah that error log will help!

When it appears again, can you please fill it out and let me know either what the CER number is and/or what you used for an email address with the report?

This way I can look up the crash in our system and see what may be causing it!
