MASH treads attaching to curve wrong

I am trying to attach treads to a curve for an animation and the tread models are not aligning tot he curve properly.

What's going on here?BMC_Image000471.jpg

Magically it worked and the treads are aligned now.  But I have encountered another issue.

When I grab the curve to parent it to the vehicles chassis and rotate the chassis the treads do this.  How can I stop the treads from being affected by the rotation?

Figured it out.  I had to rotate the source mesh.  You would think it should be in the correct orientation.

Brilliant! Thanks for sharing. I am wondering if it might also work if the source mesh is parented to the main parent body being rotated .
