I turn on x-ray and everything is good, but as soon as I go to move a vertex, edge, x-ray kicks off. Is this broken or is it something Im doing?

Hi!

It works fine here (Maya 2017 update 4).

Please add more info:

- Maya Version?

- Viewport Version and Mode?

- Graphic Card Driver Version?

Hi! Thanks for the help!

@mspeerIm using the full Maya 2018. 2018 oddly enough has just one viewport which is the default. I have the latest driver from Nvidia us Geforce Experience.  I changed the material to a Blinn and it fixed. Although I started a new cube with default material and everything was ok.

@john.paul.giancarlo  I have remapped a lot of my hot keys and before I discovered that changing the material would fix it I did reset all my hot keys back to default and reset layout back to Maya Classic.

Maya did end up crashing a few hours later and even after a resart, I could not get Maya to do it again.

Hi @Anonymous

You may want to try deleting your settings/preferences.

I currently don't have this issue on my machine so hopefully its a simple fix.

Hi!

Yes I saw that duplicate thread I have no idea how that happened.  It happened to me again this morning at work. I changed the material out like last time and this time that didnt fix it. I really dont want to delete my preferences as for I have a lot of hotkeys I use. Speaking of hotkeys I think it has to do with the modeling toolkit. It seems to happen after I use hotkeys that are set to the connect tool or the target weld tool in the modeling toolkit. But that is just a guess at this point.

Hi @Anonymous

You can always back up your hotkeys/preferences before deleting them. Then you can see if a reset will help.

Hi.

I have been this problem, and I could fix it by changing the material ( I used lambert).

Solved it.
