How to get UV Editor Toolbar back

Anonymous
Not applicable

Hi,

Hoping someone is able to help.

New to this and unsure what I pressed but now, my UV Editor Toolbar is gone.

re: Image attached.  The image with the black is what I am seeing and the image with the white window is what it's supposed to be.

This isn't the menu that's gone; which I know you can get back by shift-M.

Also notice that my menu is missing the 'Polygons'..

Hoping this be an easy fix.

Thank you help for your replies.

There have been significant changes to the UV Editor in Update 3.

Check this out: What's New in Modeling in Maya 2017 Update 3

But typically when the layout comes broken or customized beyond what you want to repair manually, you quickly reset the preferences to default:

Windows > Settings/Preferences > Preferences > Edit > Restore Default Settings

If that doesn't sort it out you can also reset your prefs folder: Reset Maya to default

If you have any other questions let  me know, happy to help! =]

Cheers

Hi Faline - thank you for your reply.

Oh no - I now realised that IS the patch 3 default menu - no wonder all my reset and everything did not work.

Haha, silli me.. why did they change it, the old MENU was a lot more easy to play with.

Thank you for your link to the change .. that really helped.  😃

Before Patch 3 was added to Maya 2017, I was able to numerically input precise UV values in boxes that used to appear in the old UV editor menu bar.   With 0.0 to 1.0 ranges I could assign values with a precision of 3 digits past the decimal point.  Where did it go???
