How to apply one texture instead of multiple texture?

I've two separate objects in maya and both have two different textures. What is the best possible solution that after combining them into one object, I can finally apply only one texture to it.

Hi @Anonymous

After you combine them if you want to apply one texture you just need to right click over the model and Assign a New Material or Assign an Existing Material if you already made the shader.

Hi @Anonymous

It depends how the UVs were layed out. If they are overlapping on one another then yes you will need to remap the model.

If you post a screenshot of the model and UVs I can guide you further.

Hi @Anonymous

Just wanted to check in to see how things were going. Are you still having this issue?

This is Uvs for two different texture overlaying on each otherThis is Uvs for two different texture overlaying on each otherThese are separate according to two different textures; one for bridge and one for street lightsThese are separate according to two different textures; one for bridge and one for street lights3.PNG4.PNG5.PNGthese are two different materials for assigning two different texturesthese are two different materials for assigning two different textures
Now I want to know that if:
1) there's a way where without going to Photoshop I will adjust respective Uvs with their texture all set in single UV map set? (Because I heard there's a way in other 3d softwares)
2) And how to merge two different UV maps in one? I mean selecting all polygons sometimes show Uv of one object either bridge or street lamps. Somehow I manage to show them all in one place but still I wanna know how to set all Uvs in one UV set if we have multiple UV sets showing in "UV Set Editor".
What is the best possible solution Maya provides in this case?

Hi @Anonymous

If you have everything combined, which it looks like you do, you can delete the other UV sets as you should only need the one that has the UVs and then just place them how you like them. You can also keep the UVs overlayed as they are, but you will just need to apply the different textures to the right spots.

You won't be able to have one texture cover this whole scene because there's too much UV overlap you would need to have at least 2 textures, for example on texture could be the bricks and cement while another would be the street lights.
