I'm an instructor at a local CC. One of my students was working with Maya 2016 on one of the lab machines and somehow managed to completely screw up the perspective camera. It comes up zoomed out about a gazillion maya units out in space. I go in, select the camera, null out the translations to the orgin. I unhide the camera and by adding another camera I can see the perspective camera at the orgin. As soon as the slightest move is made to zoom out the perspective camera it fly's out a gazillion maya units into space again.
I dumped the mel workspace for the project thinking that would fix it but not the case. Stop start Maya and create a new sceen and the camera is still messed up. These are brand new iMac's BTW running Yosemite.
Any thoughts would be appreciated.

that solution is not correct, the camera is still broken whether you change the position manually or though a bookmark, as soon as it moves again it flies off into space.
Hi!
Here is the solution:
https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/maya-forum/maya-scene-missing/m-p/7313983/highlight/true#M46033
and here with explanation why you can't correct this manual:
https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/maya-forum/persp-camera-nan/td-p/6510048
In short, you need to correct all Transformations (at once) and then correct Center Of Interest, without interruption.
