File does not exist

Hi! I wanted to open a scene file, but it dissapeared from the project folder. The scene appears in my recent files, but when I try to open it, there's a message that says that the file does not exist. Last time I worked on the scene was yesterday, and everything was fine.

Does anyone know what could have caused that?

Sounds like your file was deleted. If it can't be found and it's not in that folder anymore. I don't remember if I've ever had Maya straight up delete a file. For sure I've had files get corrupted.

I'm not going to make guesses where your file could be. Could be anywhere, trash even. There's a very small chance Maya created a backup here:

Hope you versioned up recently and haven't lost too much work, or you can manage to find the original file. Good Luck.
