False positive virus?

Hi everyone,

I haven't opened Maya in about 2 months, and today when I did, my virus scanner picked up a virus in userSetup.py

I'm pretty sure it's a false positive as Maya.exe should be able to edit the userSetup.py file, but I wanted to be sure and see if anyone else has experience this?

I use Eset Endpoint Antivirus.  Please see the screenshot for details:

Thanks for taking a look.

Hi!

This is very likely a false positive, but you can open the file with a text editor and check this on your own.

The userSetup has an impact on Maya, this is intended, and I doubt that a "normal" virus scanner can identity any unwanted behavior here.

But without knowing the content of this file I can't deny or confirm a problem.

If you want Maya related files and scripts to be checked automatically, please install the Maya Security Tools:
