Expression Editor does show expressions of ScaleX

Hi there,

I am trying rigging my character now.

I have a problem with the expression editor.

When I clicked on the ScaleX, the expression does show up.

I have posted my screen and the tutorial screen, that you can see the difference.

Hi @Anonymous

Are you using the same Maya version/update as the tutorial?

Are there any steps you might have missed when creating the expression?

Does this happen to any of the other expressions you made or just the ScaleX one?

Yes, I used the MAYA2018, which is exactly the same as the tutorial.
I haven’t tried other expression.
ScaleX is the first expression that I tried and it was stuck.

Hi @Anonymous

Can you share the tutorial here so I can see what steps are being taken?

Hi @Anonymous

It's a bit hard to tell but he may have written that expression before hand.

You could try clicking on a different part like scaleY or rotate etc then click back on ScaleX to see if anything changes.

Otherwise you may want to just type up the code thats on screen.

Also you could double check the previous steps to the tutorial to see if he mentions it or sets it up at a different point.

Hi,
Yes I have tried clicked on other attributes and clicked on ScaleX back,
However, this was not working.
I have created the expression1, and I found it.
I just can’t find the attributes of expression1 on the right side.

Hi @Anonymous

Like @mspeer said, when you get a chance, can you please zip and attach the scene file here or via dropbox/google drive or another file sharing program so I can take a look at it? If the file is confidential or under NDA please send it to me in a private message instead of posting it here.

Hi there,

I think I have found another resource without worrying the Expression Editor and it works quite well now. Now I have completed the body rig. Here is the link for people who might need: https://www.lynda.com/Maya-tutorials/Creating-simple-eyes/92564/98794-4.html

Great appreciation for people who have gave me a hand for this problem, thank you.
