Error on FBX export.

My FBX export in not appearing on my Plug in manager. It happened to me a couple of weeks ago, and I followed all the procedure of deleting my settings and preferences but it didn't work. I had to delete the whole program and re install it again. After a couple of weeks of working fine today it did the same thing to me. I retry to resetting my preferences and settings following the Autodesk support guide on how to do it, but still not working. I don't want to keep uninstalling and installing Maya every time this happens.. what else can I do ?Screenshot 2024-06-26 at 11.49.22 AM.png

Hi,

The plug-in is part of the Maya app bundle so I have no idea how that could be deleted?!

I've asked around internally to see if anyone is aware of this issue...

Thanks.

It's because your Maya.app isn't under /Applications/Autodesk/yourMayaVersion

I just moved my /Applications/Autodesk/maya2025/Maya.app to /Applications/Maya.app
launched maya via Maya.app and I can no longer find the fbx plugin.

When Maya installs on OSX it should be creating a directory under applications. For instance, on my OSX machine for my 2025 install I have
/Applications/Autodesk/maya2025 and the Maya.app should be under here (the maya2025 directory).

If need be, try creating this directory hierarchy by hand and put the Maya.app in there and launch Maya.

I can see in your attached image that your Maya.app (see the red error bar in the script history) is under Applications.

I appreciate this recommendation, I had a job for Sunday and I was freaking out. Thanks a lot, it helped doing that and now I know how to fix it in the future.
