Hi @ichigo_yagami

I'm a bit confused by your issue. Is maya crashing when you use an arrow key or is it crashing when you open another window like the Open a File window?

Hi @ichigo_yagami

Ah ok. We actually have an article on this! This issue was fixed with Update 3 of 2018 so you may want to update your 2018 however it shouldn't be occurring at all on 2019.

If the problem continues or upgrading is not an option, this may be an indication of an issue relating to the Operating System. Follow these steps to avoid the crashing:

  1. Shut down Maya, reset Maya Preferences, restart the computer
  2. Switch Maya Preferences to OS Native file browser:

file dialog

Windows > Settings/Preferences > Preferences > Files/Projects > File Dialog, OS native > Save

Map (using mapped network drives) a drive to a shared folder on the server instead of the root of the computer. Using Mapped network drive avoids the root selection in file browser avoids the crashing.
