Content Browser - No textures applied to brush effects?

Hello,

As the title says, when I use a brush from the paint effects folder in the content browser, they seem to come without a texture applied. Is this normal or is something wrong?

Looking at the attributes of one of the paint effects, there is a texture file attached, but as far as I can see, it does nothing

I'm using Maya 2017.

Hi!

Paint Effects don't behave and display like other mesh objects in Maya.

To change this you need to convert them to Polygons.

Modify -> Convert -> Paint Effects to Polygons
