Hello @kevincease,
I'm hoping to get a better idea as to your process per the tutorial you are running. I am assuming you're running legacy XGen per your screenshots rather than IGS (though I would suggest IGS)
- If so, when you create your description, make sure you're starting with guides.
- Go ahead and place those guides, as you did. By default, hair will be generated around those guides, the amount and range of generation can be tuned. You may want to reduce the density you're using just to see the individual impact better.
- Using the clump mod as an example, Select clump as a new modifier in the modifiers tab. This won't do anything yet, you'll need to first use the Set Guides button and reference the guides you've placed instead of using the generate option.
- Based on the hair style you're going for, I would probably suggest actually using several (or at least two) different descriptions to simplify the process (one for the longer hairs, one for the pulled back appearance. This also ensures that the guides do not interfere with different hair sets.
Apologies as this is a pretty basic rundown, if you could provide a series of the steps you are using I'd have a better idea of what may be happening.
