camera sequencer -> playblast sequence sets isolate select

Hi,

the title says it all...when I want to do a playblast sequence, the viewport switches to 'isolate select' which is of course not that I want...so...is this by design?

thanks for help

edit: to clarify my post: the result of this is that nothing is visible (objects selected or not) in the playblast output.

I had the same issue. Had me baffled for about a week. Got solved when I right-clicked on the shot and did "delete imagePlane".

I am guessing that when you playblast a shot or sequence from the camera sequencer, Maya imports the playblast movie as an image plane attached to the shot camera and then isolates it when you hit play so that the playblast movie plays on the viewport instead of the geometry getting updated every frame. So if you have imageplanes  switched off in the viewport, the viewport plays a blank screen! I am just guessing that this is the reason.

Thanks!

Although, I cannot verify if that might be the solution.

I totally stepped away from using the cameraSequencer thing.

Now, I create an extra camera which is parentConstraint to all individual cameras and I simply adjust the parentConstraint weight, so the extra camera switches from one to the next camera...
